Hi All,
This is a quick update on what’s happening with counter/field. For a new poetry blog, things are going remarkably well. Readership has increased notably in the past few weeks, and it’s gratifying to see that people seem to like the new visual pieces. They exist in conversation with the poems and I believe they add something, even (or especially) if they do not entirely align.
Recently I’ve been posting two poems per week, but with the addition of visuals, this has become unsustainable. Now, I’m going to commit to a posting rhythm of 1 poem + visual per week, which will free up time for reading and study.
I’m currently reading The Art of Syntax (Voigt), as well as doing various drills and close readings, which can get quite time-consuming. The advantage, of course, is that I will be able to write better poems. I hope the results will show in the months ahead.
That’s about it for now. Expect new weekly postings on or around Tuesday morning EST. I’ll leave you with some recent reading:

and current reading:

I recommend them all.
In closing, I’d like to thank everyone who explored, liked or commented on posts: it’s that sort of engagement that has given counter/field the momentum it’s enjoyed.
That’s all for now,
thanks for reading
— Stef
