The descent continues, but it’s anything but linear. The Last Bus, Basement Level Two and Terminal Reflection all feature ordinary spaces with the common theme of perceptual instability. Sine Qua Non belongs in the descent but operates in a systemic register.
Ritual sits alongside the descent rather than in it, acting as a pause in a different mode.
The next piece will continue the descent arc, but the instability will shift. I’m also working on a longer lyric piece that will likely form part of a new arc once the descent arc concludes.
